TORN FROM THE NOTEBOOK — Ne-Yo excerpted
(From AP)
When AP music editor NEKESA MUMBI MOODY talked to R&B wunderkind Ne-Yo, she got more than enough info to feed her story. In fact, she got so many interesting tidbits from this singer/songwriter who both writes hits for Beyonce and himself, she couldn’t include it all in her story. asap to the rescue.
Moody says: “Even though Ne-Yo co-wrote every song on his latest album, he’s willing to consider material from other songwriters, but they’ll have to deal with stiff competition – himself.”
“‘Irreplaceable’ is an interesting project for Ne-Yo.” Moody says: “Though it is now Beyonce’s signature song – and the ultimate female brush-off anthem – Ne-Yo had planned on it being his hit. He told me that the song was originally written from the male point of view, but it came off too cold when a guy sang it.”
Hear audio out-takes from that interview where Ne-Yo discusses songwriting from the female perspective, Beyonce’s role in “Irreplaceable” and what happens when Celine Dion comes knocking on your door.

His speaking voice is so sexy **sighhh**. Just hearing him say the words “make love”…goes right through me.
